A Couple of Principles

Kendell & Felecia Dorsey were born and raised in the Cincinnati, OH area.  They have been married since 2004.  They have recently relocated to Raleigh, NC.

Kendell has 9 years of educational leadership experience and 9 has years of teaching experience. He has served as a teacher, school improvement coach and principal.  Kendell has a passion for master scheduling, instructional leadership and classroom culture. Kendell received the most inspirational teacher award on multiple occasions. Under this leadership his schools made significant gains in reading and one of the schools in mathematics as well.

  • Participated on Cincinnati Public Schools Turnaround Team as a school improvement coach
  • Successfully implemented Restorative Practices resulting in decreased suspensions
  • Provided effective professional development around student achievement and instructional best practices to staff and teachers throughout the district and other districts
  • Revised our district Teacher-Based Team form to strengthen the process of staff data analysis
  • Lead the district PBIS Ohio Improvement Plan subcommittee
  • Published student engagement article for Edutopia.org

Felecia R. Dorsey

Felecia Dorsey

Felecia has over 20 years of experience. She has served as a teacher and principal. Felecia has the knowledge base to help teachers and leaders develop quality systems to improve outcomes. She has a real passion for Culturally Responsive Practices and Organizational Leadership development. Felecia received the Superintendent’s Golden Apple Award for her leadership in promoting student growth. Her schools made academic growth, exceeding state projections.

  • School was recognized by State of Ohio for Instructional Practices by creating a video available to all schools
  • Implemented peer learning walks to foster staff collaboration and reflection around instructional practice
  • Established a building-wide literacy program to foster a love of reading among students
  • Established an after-school intervention and enrichment program for English Language Learners
  • Restructured the school discipline system and strengthening positive behavior supports resulting in a reduction of behavior incidents
  • Co-founded and Chaired district Minority Recruitment and Retention Committee
  • Facilitated district leadership training in Culturally Responsive Practices
